The Neverwinter Wiki is now up. Could come in handy when we start playing.

Do we have to register for the Beta or can we just download it and crack on so to speak?

You obviously need to register, but it is open Beta so there are no special requirements.

No I won't. I am going to see Jimmy Carr tonight. He is doing a stand-up in Colchestershire. Given that he is that sort of person, then evidently, so am I.

So what is the verdict on this one then Greg? I gather you tried it out last night as I saw you were still on when I got back from Jimmy Carr!

Well i tried Greg but didn't get anywhere.

I was only on for about 2 hours last night and was in the queue all that time. I have to say the opening sequece looks very impressive and does seem to be the game graphics.

The models in character selection look fairy polished certainly as good if not better than SWTOR. I looked at some gameplay vids and the graphics do look good so if the gameplay matches we could be on to a winner.

The problem was the queues when i first went on i was 7500 in line and when i come off 2 hours later i was 1850 in line so no play time for Maximouse :-(

I seem to remember though the queues on SWTOR were just as bad until the game came out.

Blimey! When will these companies learn that people want to play the game, not sit in a queue forever. It seems they always underestimate the number of servers required for these games.

We can only hope it calms down a bit - as the first day is always hectic.

I am sure it will calm down SWTOR did in fact they had to mearge servers in the end.

It was a bit annoying though as it looks good and i wanted to play. How long does the beta last for? When is the proper game out?

I don't know the answer to either of those questions but I can only imagine it will be soon. Open beta is pretty much like a normal launch, just they can use the excuse that it's "beta" if it is buggier than we would have hoped.

Well well well, what an unexpected surprise last night huh Greg? I really enjoyed Neverwinter. As I said, has a mixture of Dragon Age and Neverwinter Nights about it, only multiplayer. What did you think of it?

I think it shows great potential and think I will be playing this one quite a lot!

I have to admit I was a little worried that this was going to be pants - hence why I have not really been to hyped for it. It's a pleasant thing to be surprised by how good a game is, after all the recent disappointments. Free-to-play too: what more could you ask for?

Just to ease our suspicions, here is a quote from this page that definitely states it is completely free:
Q: How much will Neverwinter cost? Will there be a subscription required?
Neverwinter will be a free-to-play game. There will be no cost for the client, and no subscription fee will be required.

That is just amazing isn't it?

I will definately be playing this one a lot. As we play at different times normally would it be better to start some lannage characters like we have for Borderlands.

I could start a rogue for lannage as i do want to try out the tricky little swine :-)
