I don't know, I understand everyone feels the grind and has put so much time into characters they would feel as though they couldn't do it again for a third time, I'm not so concerned about starting another character. The real stickler is whether greg has the time to be getting on it for co-op. I'm game for going as a gruesome twosome to speed up the process to getting back to where you two chaps are, before going in as a 4 person co-op.

Up to you really mr greguar, appreciate you have a lot on your plate at the mo, sounds like creating the event horizon might be the last straw for guinea pigs that shit their pants at their own shadows, seeing regular visions of hell, people with their eyeballs ripped out might be enough for them to end it all.

perhaps a nice square box? you know, a comfy box they can squeak at one another in and poo to their little hearts content when they're not making that nasally squeaking sound as they hear the prep of dandelion, lettuce and cucumber?

I think you might be right, the simpler the better for the simple little fuckwits.

Sorry to hear about the cat, but it sounds like she was having a bit a shit time so probably for the best.

As Jeg is not about today, perhaps you and Megan could have a go on the division and I can have a bit of a watch via that streaming thing to see if it’s something I could find time for.

I have to agree with Meg - I don't see what difference watching them will be vs watching a youTube video. Just buy it Greg.

Pull yourself together Greg
Pull yourself together Greg

. Man up and buy it. Or don't. Please decide either way though as we are left in limbo until you do.

Really? Is that just a knee-jerk reaction to my post because I am being bitchy (don't be, I know it winds you up ;-)), or is that for real? Thought you liked the look of it.

TBH though, I can't be bothered with the grief it's causing so will just say TCT and move on...

No not being weird, as you said just don’t want to keep messing everyone about.

Also yesterday after I got back from work I didn’t actually get to sit down and eat until 11 because of a huge list of things that need to be done. I realised this is becoming the template for my days so there is no way I will be able put in enough time to keep up and you guys will always be hanging about waiting for me.

Square enough Greg. Sounds a bit shit. I just wanted to know what was going on is all - it has been back-and-forth for a while now and noone knew what was going on. If you are not going to be about for our co-op games then it makes sense. It is a shame though, as it is a great game - especially co-op.

I suppose what would be really funny is if after all this, you bought the game and didn't like it - that would be a kick in the balls for sure. On that note though, I was leaning towards the hope that you WOULD indeed like it. We have been playing it so much recently because we all really enjoyed it. If it turned into one of those "Warframe scenarios" where you are crouched sulking in a corner (;-)) then it would be a huge waste of money (that you are short on currently) anyway.

Anyhoo, I will hold final judgement until you have spoken to the G-Man (tonight?) though.

I might see if he can play a bit of it via the stream and I can ask questions as he is going. Plus I could do with just sitting down doing fuck all for a bit.

Dyson has not bought it from Steam (me and Meg did though) - so Steam streaming will not work. He would have to Twitch stream it.

Additional, if you wanted my thoughts on it (and have not yet read my review)...

My Steam Review

It's not perfect, but it certainly does not warrant the amount of negativity it seems to be generating. The main issue I see is that it tries to be too much - something for everyone. A hybrid game, of sorts. In doing this, it ends up being simply too average at each of it's mechanics. It's kind of an MMO, but lacking features; it's kind of an RPG, but lacking depth; it's kind of a tactical 3rd person shooter, but lacking realism. However, as a whole the game simply works... surprisingly well I might add.

Anyway, let's break it down:

The Bad
- Still a bit buggy (getting stuck in objects, disconnecting, falling through levels).
- Enemies don't need to be far above your level to make them severe bullet sponges. This leads to...
- Grouping issues, since characters more than 3 levels above/below cause severe balancing issues.
- Skills are unlocked by doing side-missions instead of levelling up. This leads to...
- ...if you spend a while doing missions in a block (without going back to the safe house), you feel like you are getting nowhere until you do finally get back and suddenly unlock tons and tons of skills all at once.
- The loot is very "meh". Other than increasing damage/dps/armour numbers, nothing really makes you too thrilled with getting new loot. It is also replaced very quickly as you level.
- No incentive to start another character - every one is EXACTLY the same and there is no permanent skills/classes to "shake it up".
- No trading between players. Got a better weapon for a team mate? Tough, they can't have it.
- It's repetitive. 1-30 is fun, but end-game will not be for everyone. To be fair, I am never a fan of these end-game MMO-ey things anyway... it's the journey there that I prefer and will not be playing the endless grinding raids etc. If you do not plan on doing this then this may not be so much of a "con".

The Good
- Combat is very enjoyable. It is fluid, tactical and the cover mechanics are spot on.
- Great fun co-op with a group of friends.
- Ability to respec whenever you wish.
- It looks gorgeous and runs surprisingly smoothly too.
- Easy to pick up and play.
- Lot's to do and a large open world to explore.
- 4 Character slots so that you can have several different leveled characters in play.
- Plenty of skills (and mods for them), talents and perks to choose from.

So, in summary, it's a flawed, but very enjoyable game. Worthy of a thumbs up and certainly not deserving of all the negativity. With any luck, patches and DLC may fix some of the issues and add some required features.

Jimbo Rating: 8/10

So i had a go at end game content last and went into the dark zone with some of my old clan mates

It was good fun but i can see it would get boring very quick as i did pretty much everything you can do in one night.  You go to different areas and kill bosses who drop good loot and defend a chest then you have to go to an extraction point to get your loot out

Just running round you can get in some massive fire fights we came out of one safe house and were pinned down by about 15 - 20 AI all lvl 32 with armour and about half were elites.  I really do like the combat in this game and in a squad of 4 it is pretty awesome

I will do a little bit more end game grinding but not because i want to grind for loot, i have a full set of purple with a couple of bits of gold stuff now but to game with my old pals not spoken to them for years

I had a look at the daily/challenge missions but they are just the main missions replayed on challenging lvl so the AI is lvl 32 with lots of elites.  You do get good loot but why bother as you have already done the mission.  The incursion thing goes live today but from what i can see it is just a big main style mission and once done why do it again

Probably i will play this for another week or so but only when some of the guys are on there is no way i will be grinding on my own after that i will leave it for a while and see what new content comes out

Obviously i want to continue with our coop characters as that is good fun and what we are doing Friday :-)  Also after the patch today we will be able to trade between characters and the stash is already combined for all your characters

Yep, pretty much what conclusion I came to... it's a grindy, very repetitive, pointless slog through all the same shit for absolutely no reason. Couple this with PvP and you have pretty much everything I dislike in one hit. This is where the game falls completely flat on the floor and shows its MMO connections.

To be honest though, it's not something I am ever interested in - and knew this would be the case when I purchased The Division. The journey from 1-30 is what I bought it for. "End-game content" is always completely bullshit.

The incursions seem completely pointless "raids" (MMO crap again). As for trading - it's not quite as simple as you say. You can ONLY trade if the person is in your group at the time you pick it up AND it is done within 2 hours. :-(

True the trading is a bit complicated and why bother putting a restriction on it?  Not sure if you can craft something whilst in the group then trade it?

I want to play the incursion once as it is a big story mission and i really enjoyed the main missions but yes why keep replaying it?  Just want to get my monies worth and play through all the content once :-)

So you just have the final mission to do on your single player?  Do you want to team up and do that it takes about 30 mins?

Yes myself and G-Man were planning on doing the last mission on Wednesday, then I am done with it (excluding co-op).

We didn't actually specify a time... I was going to be on at around 7 and we would just hop on and do it when he gets on... hopefully the good captain will let us know when here...? Completely up to you if you want to join us or not.
